How to Add FIVE to your Sky box

If you don’t have a current Sky viewing card you’ll probably find that FIVE (channel 105) is missing from the Guide. This is because FIVE is broadcast free-to-view (FTV). This means it’s encrypted but free to watch with a valid viewing card.

However, FIVE is also separately broadcast free-to-air (FTA), ie no viewing card required. To access the FTA version you need to add it as an “Other Channel”.

Here’s how:
1. Press the Services button on your remote.
2. Select option 4 (System Setup)
3. From the System Setup menu select option 4 (Add Channels).
4. Enter the following information and select Find Channels:

Frequency: 10.773
Polarisation: H
Symbol Rate: 22.0
FEC: 5/6

5. You should be presented with list of channels found. Scroll to FIVE and press the yellow button to select it. Press Select to store.
6. The channel will now be available via the Other Channels menu (Services >> 6. Other Channnels).

Note: the channel will not appear in the Guide.

There are several other channels that can be added in this way, including regional ITV variations. More info here.
